log level randomly not recognized

Postby mriccobene » 03 Mar 2015, 11:35

Hello,
i am using Retrospective to inspect the catalina.out log of Tomcat (Java).

Retrospective fails to recognize the same log level in different entries.
For example:

- in this line INFO is recognized:

Code: Select all

Mar 03, 2015 7:55:15 AM ucar.nc2.grib.collection.GribCollectionBuilder createIndex
INFO: GribCollectionBuilder write /home/master/xxxxxxxx/R_2015_03_03_NoaaNcepGfs_t00z_f024.data.ncx2 ok=true

- in this line INFO is *not* recognized:

Code: Select all

Mar 03, 2015 7:56:58 AM com.xxxxxxxx.yyyyyyyy.servlet.Query processRequest
INFO: Forecast, new request: time=201503030756&lat=42.76623333333333&lon=132.98798333333335

Note that the last line is shorter.

Thanks in advance,
michelangelo

Hello michelangelo,

thanks for your interest in out product and for submitting a feedback. Feedback is always valuable for us.

I've quickly tried to reproduce your problem but without any success. On my MacBook the log level is correctly detected in both log entries. See the screenshot: http://www.imageupload.co.uk/image/5its

It would be easier to reproduce it if you send me the exact log fragment by e-mail. You could use either marek.psiuk@centeractive.com or support@centeractive.com .
Also the configuration of your data source, visible in the Profile Manager, could also play a role here. I've used simply the configuration detected during autofind: http://www.imageupload.co.uk/image/5itS . Let me know if your data source configuration differs.

Kind regards,

Marek
